SO-31 – Defying the Liberal Carbon Tax
Defying the Liberal Carbon Tax
Mr. Bob Benzen (Calgary Heritage, CPC): Mr. Speaker, resistance is growing to the Prime Minister’s plan to risk our economy by having a federal carbon tax.
Manitoba is the latest province to say it will no longer tolerate the Liberals’ intrusion into its policy making and will focus on its made-in-Manitoba climate and green plan instead. Ontario premier, Doug Ford, is in Calgary today for a “Scrap the Carbon Tax” rally. He has been leading the charge against the tax by outing it as “the absolute worst tax for Canadian families, businesses and the economy…[and one] that does nothing for the environment”. That message resonates in Alberta, where Jason Kenney will repeal the tax when he becomes premier.
Consensus is building across Canada for what Conservatives have said all along: That the Liberal carbon tax is nothing more than a cash grab to finance the Prime Minister’s out-of-control spending, and that the Liberals must come clean on its real costs.
Manitoba has joined Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario and Prince Edward Island in opposing the Liberal Carbon Tax. And Saskatchewan has also now filed for intervener status in Ontario’s court challenge against the Carbon Tax.Today in Parliament I pointed out how momentum is building across Canada against this tax grab by Justin Trudeau, which will harm Canadian competitiveness, make every day items less affordable for families, and which does nothing for the environment.Watch at the link and Like, Share or Comment on this post if you agree with me that the Carbon Tax is nothing more than a Liberal cash grab to finance the PM's out-of-control spending.
